Briefing to the European Parliament - the EP work 2009-2014
Pearle* calls upon the EP to nurture Europe's cultural values and to create a sustainable environment for the performing arts in Europe.
It is time to create a sustainable environment for the arts by reducing administrative burdens and obstacles. This would greatly improve the functioning of the sector and promote mobility in Europe. There is need to recognize the particularity of the performing arts sector, especially in its role of promoting Europe's culture and history. It is necessary to address priorities which require a transversal policy, whilst taking into consideration specific priorities for the sector.
