answer of Pearle to the public consultation on culture - November 2006

Culture needs to continue to have its own place in society and in the history, without being considered as a tool or a means for other goals.
As a European sectoral social partner, representing the employers side, a major concern of our members is the financing of culture linked to the national policy for culture. However the budgets of arts organisations is growingly under pressure of the legal environment in which it has to operate ñin many cases following European legislation- resulting in higher costs and investments.
