Polifonia (Erasmus network for Music)
Since its launch in 2004, the ERASMUS Network for Music ‘Polifonia’ has proactively addressed European higher education policy issues from the perspective of higher music education (HME).
In its third cycle, the current 3-year project (2011-2014)comprises of five working groups, each of which has been designed to be coherent internally but also complementary to others.
Pearle* is part of working group 4, ‘Educating for Entrepreneurship’, that brings together representatives of higher music education institutions and professional music organisations.
It aims to:
•explore innovative, “entrepreneurial” ways of structuring music-making across Europe
•determine the shared skills and competencies this entails
•map existing approaches to such training in conservatoires
•provide guidelines and appropriate training for higher music education institutions and the profession
